Despite the crazy weather, EOS 2011 hosted more than 600 attendees, 30+ exhibitors and a special appearance by state representative, Mark Strama.

Richard Froeschle’s session was a hit with his presentation on the changing face of the Texas Labor Market. He shared key statistics about the current and future state of the Texas economy.

Michele Collins led the first workshop on CTE and ELLs. Participants learned how to engage students in classroom discussion while building their confidence and preparing them for the future.

Also new this year was Ethics Training for Counselors where participants learned the legal boundaries and professional expectations of educators with advances in technology. They encountered real-case scenarios and how to react appropriately while lowering risk and defining responsibility.

Education Open Source 2012 follows the 82nd Texas legislative session and will deliver the latest policy updates along with forward-thinking content for quality CTE programs. Mark your calendar for February 6-8 in Austin!
